D.O.Q. PRIORAT

In this denomination, red wine made with Carignan grapes predominates, which is the key to their current wines. Also used are red and hairy Grenache grapes. To a lesser extent, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah grapes are used. It produces wine with a garnet color, very intense aroma, high alcohol content, and a dense, rich, fleshy, and rounded flavor. The white wine produced uses white Grenache, Macabeo, and Pedro Ximénez grapes. Rosé wine is also made with red Grenache, as well as fortified wine.
